The Founder

I was born and raised in the Philippines and have always been drawn to creativity, paper, and storytelling. I’m a proud stationery nerd (especially when it comes to Japanese stationery), and I love discovering new tools, papers, and materials that bring journals to life.
Junk journaling became my favorite creative outlet because it celebrates imperfection, layering scraps, textures, and memories into something uniquely personal.
I started Junk Journal & Yap because I wanted to create the kind of creative space I always wished existed. A cozy little corner where beginners feel welcome, creativity feels relaxed and approachable, and people can connect over a shared love for paper and journaling. A place where slowing down to glue scraps, flip through beautiful papers, and make something by hand feels special again.
It’s never been about perfect spreads or having the fanciest supplies. It’s about the joy of creating, the stories tucked into each page, and the simple magic of sitting around a table making things together.
At Junk Journal and Yap we believe in texture. In torn edges. In pages that hold your real life.
